Ten Rome Vespa tours compared on who drives, what a couple actually pays, how long you ride and what you see, from a €47 passenger ride with photos to 3-hour sidecar tours with a licensed guide and a self-drive tour for experienced riders.
What You Should Know
- Nearly every Vespa tour in Rome is a passenger ride: a local driver takes you around the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and the Janiculum view in 90 minutes to 3 hours. Only self-drive tours let you ride, and they require real scooter experience.
- Sidecar tours put two guests on each Vespa, one in the sidecar and one behind the driver, swapping at stops. Scooter tours give each guest a driver of their own, usually with a photographer along.
- Passenger scooter rides with photos cost €47 to €66 per person for about 90 minutes. Three-hour sidecar tours with a guide cost €108 to €149, and the private or own-sidecar options run €140 to €235.
- The biggest gap between tours is commentary, not the ride. Only our top pick narrates through headsets while you ride; on most 90-minute photo rides, reviewers describe a fun ride with little history at the stops.
Vespa Tours in Rome: What You Are Actually Choosing Between
A Vespa tour in Rome is the Roman Holiday version of sightseeing: a vintage-style scooter weaving through traffic from the Colosseum to Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and the view from the Janiculum Hill, with stops for photos along the way. The first thing to know is that on almost every tour you are a passenger. A local driver does the riding, and you sit behind them or in a sidecar. Only self-drive tours let you take the handlebars, and they ask for genuine two-wheel experience.
In our view, the choice that matters most is the format, because it decides who sits in the sidecar and how much you hear along the way. Vespa sidecar tours pair two guests per scooter, one in the sidecar and one riding pillion, usually with a guide leading a small convoy for 90 minutes to 3 hours. Scooter photo tours give every guest their own driver and include a set of professional photos, typically in about 90 minutes. Self-drive tours put you on your own Vespa behind a guide. This guide compares ten of the best-reviewed Rome Vespa tours, all checked against their live listings on November 3, 2026, on who drives, what a couple pays, how long you ride and how much you learn along the way. What to Expect on a Vespa Tour of Rome
The pattern is the same on most tours: short rides through traffic, linked by stops of five to thirty minutes.

Our take (a ride first, a tour second): From what we've seen in reviews and operator details, the ride is the experience on every tour here: guests describe the thrill of weaving through Roman traffic far more than any monument. The disappointed ones expected a history tour and got a photo ride. If commentary matters, pick a tour that names a licensed guide or headsets; otherwise, enjoy the ride and save the history for a walking tour.
A few practical realities. Tours use professional local drivers, but passengers still travel through busy city traffic: it is fast and sometimes bumpy on cobblestones, though nervous first-timers often say their fear passed within minutes. The operators set their own restrictions: nine of the ten listings say the tour is not recommended in pregnancy (the top pick does not permit it), six add spinal injuries and five poor cardiovascular health. Weight and height limits apply on many tours (100 kg on Vesparella, 95 kg on VH Experience, 110 kg in LivTours' sidecar, 250 lbs on Dearoma). Children can ride from about 4 to 7 depending on the operator, and small children go in the sidecar. Riding pillion, you hold on to grab bars rather than a backrest, which one guest found less secure than the sidecar. The sidecar is the easier seat for limited mobility: on the top pick, guests in their late seventies and eighties, and one using a walker, say the drivers helped them in and out at every stop, though that guest warned the cobblestones make it a rough ride.
Best Vespa Tours in Rome, Reviewed
Ten tours, grouped by what each one does best. Three things separate them: whether you ride in a sidecar or behind your own driver, how much commentary you get, and the price for your group. Ratings and review counts are current as of November 3, 2026.
Vespa Sidecar Tour: Morning Sidecar Tour with Cappuccino
1,858 reviews and 1,856 of them five stars; nothing below four. What sets it apart is the guide: a licensed guide narrates through headsets while professional drivers ride, so you hear about the city between stops rather than only at them. The route runs from Piazza della Repubblica past the Quirinal to Trevi Fountain, where the guide walks you down to the fountain's edge with tickets already bought, then into the Pantheon past the queue, Piazza Navona, St Peter's Square, the Janiculum, Trastevere and the Colosseum, with a cappuccino and cornetto at a café on the way. Two guests share each Vespa and swap between the sidecar and the pillion seat at stops, and a solo traveller still gets to try both. It departs at 09:00, Monday to Saturday, for up to six per booking; children from 5 must ride in the sidecar unless they are over 150 cm. In practice your booking is capped at six, but you ride in a convoy with other bookings: guests describe four or five Vespas, and one counted ten. In winter the drivers hand out blankets and hot-water bottles for the sidecar, and recent guests aged 78 to 85, and one on a walker, say the team helped them on and off at every stop. We'd book it for a first morning in Rome: guests who did so say it showed them which places to come back to on foot. To be clear, at €149 it is not the best value for everyone. It is the best choice if you want a guided sightseeing tour, with tickets and history, rather than simply a Vespa ride. The same company runs a 4-hour 14:30 tour with gelato (€149, 5.0 from 750 reviews) and a 3-hour evening tour with pizza (€164). The tradeoff is price and attention: at €298 for a couple it costs twice a 90-minute ride, and one guest warned that a sidecar convoy draws stares and phone cameras all morning.
Check availability7 HILLS TOURS: Vespa Sidecar Tour by Night with Pickup
The most-reviewed Vespa tour in this comparison, at 4.92 from 1,918 reviews, and the one to book for an evening ride: an 18:00 departure past the floodlit Colosseum, Piazza Venezia, the Baths of Caracalla and the Pyramid of Cestius, up to the Orange Garden on the Aventine, through Trastevere and up to the Janiculum. There are 10:00 and 14:00 departures too. €121 each for two, €149 solo (on a Vespa without a sidecar), with lower rates for ages 5 to 17, and a gelato or coffee stop. Meet at Piazza della Cancelleria or ask for pickup. Recent reviews are glowing, and one parent with three children made it work, with two in the sidecars and two riding pillion. Older complaints are worth knowing: in 2024 some drivers spoke no English, and a few guests found the pillion seat uncomfortable.
Check availabilityVesparella: Vespa Sidecar Tour with Pickup, Drop-off and Gelato
The cheapest 3-hour sidecar tour on the page, with pickup and drop-off where you choose and a gelato stop, rated 4.98 from 629 reviews. Departures at 10:00, 14:00 and 18:00. The €108 fare is for a shared sidecar Vespa; €200 buys every guest a sidecar seat. That distinction is the main complaint: a December 2025 group of three found only one of them got a sidecar. The other is depth: a 2025 guest called it 'a ride, not a tour', with photo stops and little history. Recent guests praise their drivers and the flexible drop-off, and one brought an elderly mother, whom the guide helped in and out of the sidecar. Maximum 100 kg and 195 cm per person.
Check availabilityLivTours: Rome City Highlights and Hidden Gems by Vespa Sidecar
4.99 from 254 reviews, all but one of them five stars, with recent guests singling out guides who adapt the route as they go and tell the stories behind each stop, from the Colosseum and Circus Maximus to the Mouth of Truth, the Pantheon and the Spanish Steps. The semi-private tour (€149, €134 under 18) leaves Piazza di Sant'Andrea della Valle at 09:30, and a private version costs €235 each for two. Food is not included in the listing, though guests mention ending with gelato. Two quirks: passengers in the sidecar must be at least 4 feet tall and under 110 kg, and if you want the sidecar for the whole ride you book two places for yourself. We'd give this the edge on a Sunday, when the top pick does not run, and for anyone who wants the guide to shape the route around them.
Check availabilityVesparella: Rome Vespa Sidecar Tour, 90-Minute City Highlights
A quick sidecar loop from Piazza di San Pantaleo, beside Piazza Navona: the Colosseum, Monte Oppio, the Spanish Steps, Piazza del Popolo, Castel Sant'Angelo and the Vatican, with two stops for the views at the Pincio and the Fontana dell'Acqua Paola. €71 with a shared sidecar (€65 under 18), or €140 each for your own sidecar seat. 4.93 from 214 reviews, and recent families with teenagers loved it. There is no audio while you ride, and 2026 brought two complaints worth noting: one parent reported unsafe driving, and one group that had paid for six sidecars arrived to find too few Vespas. Recent guests recommend the early slot for lighter traffic. We'd lean toward the 3-hour tour if this is your only Vespa ride in Rome: the 90-minute loop has two stops and no commentary on the move.
Check availabilityHello Vespa Roma: Private Vespa Tour with Hotel Pickup
Every guest rides behind their own driver, which is the format for anyone who does not want to share a scooter, and the tour includes 20 photos and pickup from your hotel. 4.98 from 1,203 reviews. At €55.25 until 9 November (normally €65) it is one of the cheapest well-rated rides here, and options add drop-off (€68 on sale), gelato, tiramisù or 30 extra minutes. Recent guests describe drivers who settled their nerves about Roman traffic within minutes. Two older complaints: a July 2026 guest's route skipped the Colosseum and the Mouth of Truth, and a French guest found the photos disappointing. Say which stops you want before you set off. We like this option for a group with one nervous rider: everyone gets their own driver, so nobody has to share a seat or a pace.
Check availabilityPrivate Photographer in Rome: Vespa Scooter Tour with Photographer
1,706 reviews at 4.92: each guest rides behind a driver who doubles as photographer, with 25 photos delivered afterwards. The route covers the Colosseum, Piazza Venezia, the Orange Garden, Castel Sant'Angelo, the Janiculum and the Fontana dell'Acqua Paola, and there are departures from early morning to 21:00. €59.40 until 29 November (normally €66); a sidecar option costs €90 on the same sale. It has the most low reviews of any tour here (16 one-star), and 2026 brought several: starts 30 minutes late, a guest pressured to leave a review on the spot, Spanish requested but not provided, and little commentary at the stops. We'd book it for the photos and the ride, not the history.
Check availabilityDearoma Tours: Rome by Vespa, Classic Rome Tour
4.98 from 346 reviews, and the tour guests describe as equal parts sightseeing and history lesson, with hotel pickup and drop-off wherever you want to go next. The 3-hour group tour costs €150 each for two (€175 solo, €130 from six); a private 3-hour tour is €197 each, and a private 06:30 dawn tour €230. A September 2026 guest on the dawn ride saw Rome before the crowds and called it well worth the alarm. Solo women travellers single out the guides for making them feel at ease. There is also a 1-hour ride from €59. We'd book this if you have been to Rome before: one guest skipped the main sights for the hills and backstreets instead.
Check availabilityVH Experience in Rome: Vespa Tour with Photos, Tiramisù and Drop-off
The lowest price on the page: €46.75 for the city ride until 30 November (normally €55), €55.25 with photos, or €63.75 with photos and tiramisù. You ride behind your own driver from near the Colosseo metro and are dropped off at the end. 4.89 from 209 reviews. Read the small print: guests over 95 kg cannot ride, the driver waits a maximum of 10 minutes, and two October 2026 guests were still waiting for their photos, while another said the tour cut a stop and ended abruptly. Fine for a cheap, quick ride; not the tour for a first look at Rome's history.
Check availability7 HILLS TOURS: Vespa Self-Drive Tour in Rome
The only well-reviewed self-drive Vespa tour in Rome right now: you ride your own Vespa behind a guide for three hours, at 13:30 or 17:30, five days a week, from Prati near the Vatican Museums. 4.91 from 98 reviews. The rules are strict: riders must be at least 20, bring a physical driving licence (plus an international permit if you are from outside the EU) and a credit card, and have real scooter experience. If the guide judges you not ready on the day, the tour is not refunded. Guests with experience love it; one less experienced pair cancelled after seeing the traffic and lost their money, and another group put its less confident riders in a sidecar.
Check availabilityFor a guided introduction to Rome, book a 3-hour sidecar tour. For a fun hour and a half and some good photos, a scooter photo ride costs a third of the price.
Sidecar, Scooter or Self-Drive: Which Vespa Tour Is Right for You?
| Factor | Sidecar tour | Scooter photo tour | Self-drive tour |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who drives | A professional driver | A driver of your own | You, behind a guide |
| Seats | Two guests per Vespa: one in the sidecar, one behind the driver, swapping at stops | One guest per Vespa, pillion | One or two per Vespa |
| Typical length | 90 min to 3 hrs | About 90 min | 3 hrs |
| Commentary | A guide at the stops; headsets on the top pick | Light; the focus is photos | A guide at the stops |
| Price for two | €142 to €298; €400 or more for a sidecar seat each or a private tour | €93.50 to €132 | From €190 |
| Best for | Couples, families with kids over 5, first-timers who want history | Photos, a short fun ride, solo travellers | Confident scooter riders who want the real thing |
| Watch for | Only one of you is in the sidecar at a time unless you pay extra | Weight limits (95 kg on VH Experience), photo delivery times | Licence rules, experience checks, no refund if turned away |
Most people don't realize a "sidecar tour" does not mean a sidecar seat each. On every sidecar tour here, two guests share a Vespa, and the second rides pillion behind the driver; the guests who left low reviews on Vesparella and 7 HILLS TOURS were mostly expecting otherwise. Vesparella sells a sidecar seat for every guest (€140 or €200), and LivTours asks you to book two places if you want the sidecar throughout. We think the swap is part of the fun for couples, but if one of you is nervous on two wheels, pay for the extra seat.
Choosing between a Vespa and a golf cart? A golf cart seats five to seven, is slower and steadier, and suits groups and limited mobility; a Vespa is faster, more exposed and built for one or two. Our Rome golf cart tour comparison covers the cart side.
Should You Drive a Vespa Yourself in Rome?
| Factor | Passenger tour | Self-drive tour |
|---|---|---|
| Requirements | None beyond age, weight and height limits | A physical driving licence, an international permit for non-EU licences, a credit card, age 20+ (7 HILLS TOURS) and real scooter experience |
| What you see | Everything: you can look around and take photos on the move | Mostly the road and the guide's taillight between stops |
| Price | From €46.75 per person | From €95 per person |
| If it goes wrong | Full refund up to 24 hours before | Riders judged not ready on the day are not refunded |
Only drive if you already ride scooters confidently. Guests who drove themselves describe narrow streets, pedestrians everywhere and traffic they called chaotic, and one pair with little experience cancelled late and lost the full price; the same guest warned that damage to the scooter could be costly, so ask about insurance and any deposit before you book. We'd choose self-drive only if riding is the point of the trip; for sightseeing, the passenger seat shows you more of Rome.
My Vespa Tours on Via Cavour
Searching for My Vespa Tours at Via Cavour 80? The shop sits on the corner with Santa Maria Maggiore, about five minutes' walk from Termini, and it rents Vespas and runs 3 to 4 hour tours starting at 10:00, either self-driven (licence category A or B, age 18+, and real scooter experience) or with a driver, from €195. We have left it out of the comparison because the newest guest review of its tour is from August 2025, and we only recommend tours with recent feedback. If you want to ride yourself, 7 HILLS TOURS' self-drive tour above has steady 2026 reviews.
Best Rome Vespa Tours for Couples: What Two People Actually Get
For two people, the standard sidecar fare is usually the right one. On a sidecar tour a couple shares one Vespa: one of you sits in the sidecar, the other behind the driver, and you swap at the stops. It sounds like a compromise, but it keeps you on the same Vespa, side by side, for the whole ride, which is how the top pick sells it. Paying for a sidecar seat each puts you on two Vespas with two drivers, at almost double the price.
| Tour | How two of you ride | Swap seats? | Total for two |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vespa Sidecar Tour (top pick) | One Vespa: sidecar and pillion | Yes, at stops | €298 |
| 7 HILLS TOURS | One Vespa: sidecar and pillion | Yes, at each stop | €242 |
| LivTours semi-private | One Vespa: sidecar and pillion | Yes; book four places if you both want the sidecar | €298; €596 both in sidecars; €470 private |
| Vesparella 3 hrs | One shared sidecar Vespa, or a sidecar seat each | Not stated | €216 shared; €400 a seat each |
| Vesparella 90 min | One shared sidecar Vespa, or a sidecar seat each | Yes on the shared fare | €142 shared; €280 a seat each |
| Hello Vespa Roma | Two scooters, a driver each | No sidecar | €110.50 until 9 Nov (normally €130) |
| Dearoma Tours 3-hr group | Two scooters, a driver each | No sidecar | €300 |
Our take for couples: book the top pick if you want a guided morning with the history and tickets included, and 7 HILLS TOURS if you would rather ride at sunset or after dark for €56 less. If you each want your own driver and a set of photos, Hello Vespa Roma costs well under half as much, though you ride on separate scooters and the commentary is lighter.
Where Rome Vespa Tours Go: The Common Stops (Interactive Map)
Routes vary by operator and traffic, and some private drivers build the ride around your list, but these fourteen stops come up across the ten tours on this page. Almost all of them include the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and at least one hilltop view. The views are where a Vespa earns its keep: the Janiculum terrace, the Fontana dell'Acqua Paola and the Orange Garden on the Aventine are a steep climb on foot, and a scooter reaches all three in one ride.
| How often | Stops | What you get there |
|---|---|---|
| On almost every tour | The Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, the Janiculum viewpoint | Photo stops of 5 to 15 minutes. You walk the last stretch to Trevi; the top pick also takes guests down to the basin and into the Pantheon |
| On most tours | Piazza Venezia, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, the Orange Garden, Circus Maximus, the Fontana dell'Acqua Paola | A mix of drive-pasts and short stops; the Orange Garden and Acqua Paola are the views |
| On some tours | St Peter's Square, the Spanish Steps, the Pincio, the Quirinal, Piazza della Repubblica | Usually a drive-past; ask at the start if one matters to you |
Morning, Sunset or Night: When to Take a Vespa Tour in Rome
Vespa tours run all year, with morning, afternoon and evening departures, though times vary by operator and season. The pick's listing allows cancellation for bad weather, and 7 HILLS TOURS guests have ridden in the pouring rain. In an open sidecar, wind and rain matter more than they do in a golf cart, so if the forecast is poor and your dates are flexible, move the tour.
Lighter traffic and smaller crowds at Trevi and the Pantheon. The top pick leaves at 09:00, and Dearoma's private dawn tour at 06:30; a September 2026 guest said it was worth getting up for. Guests on Vesparella's 90-minute ride also recommend the early slot.
The busiest traffic, but it suits a first day after a morning arrival. Riding in July heat is tiring; one couple on the top pick's tour was grateful for the guides' water mist and bottles. Self-drive tours leave at 13:30 or 17:30.
From about April to September, the 18:00 departures ride into sunset over the Janiculum; from October to March they run after dark. Expect floodlit monuments, cooler air and faster riding on quieter streets. 7 HILLS TOURS' 18:00 tour is built for it, and a September guest called the ride under the moon amazing. Bring a jacket from November to March: the sidecar is open to the wind.
How Much Does a Vespa Tour in Rome Cost?
A Vespa tour in Rome costs from €46.75 per person for a 90-minute passenger ride on a sale, to €149 for a 3-hour sidecar tour with a licensed guide, and €200 to €235 per person for a sidecar seat each or a private sidecar. Tips for drivers and guides are not included.
VH Experience (€46.75 on sale), Hello Vespa Roma (€55.25 on sale), Private Photographer in Rome (€59.40 on sale). About 90 minutes behind your own driver, with photos on most options.
Vesparella's 90-minute ride (€71), its 3-hour tour with gelato (€108), 7 HILLS TOURS (€121 each for two) and the 3-hour tours from LivTours and the top pick (€149). Two guests share each Vespa.
7 HILLS TOURS self-drive (from €95), Dearoma's 3-hour tours (€150 to €197), Vesparella's sidecar seat for each guest (€140 to €200) and LivTours' private sidecar (€235 each for two).
We think the tradeoff is clear: the jump from about €55 to €149 buys a guide and tickets, not more of Rome, since most routes cover the same core stops. Three sales are time-limited: Hello Vespa Roma until 9 November, Private Photographer in Rome until 29 November and VH Experience until 30 November.
Our Take
Across these listings, the pattern we keep seeing is that the guide matters more than the scooter: the same ride past the same fountains earns five stars when someone explains what you are looking at, and three stars when the stops are only for photos.
Tips for Your Vespa Tour in Rome
- Decide whether you want a sidecar seat each. The standard sidecar fare puts one of you behind the driver. Vesparella and LivTours sell an extra seat if both of you want the sidecar throughout.
- Check the weight and height limits before booking. They are strict on some tours, and one guest over VH Experience's 95 kg limit was turned away at the meeting point.
- Cover your shoulders and knees on the top pick. It goes inside the Pantheon, and a guest advised bringing a scarf or longer trousers.
- Ask for your language at booking. Several 2024 to 2026 reviews describe drivers or guides who spoke little English or no Spanish, which is fine for the ride but not for the commentary.
- Name your must-see stops. Scooter photo routes vary, and guests have found the Colosseum or the Mouth of Truth missing. Say what matters at the start.
- Keep the operator's WhatsApp handy. Late starts and missed pickups are the most common complaint on the busier photo tours. A message the day before confirms the time and place.
- Secure your phone. A lanyard or zipped pocket makes photos on the move easier and safer; one guest recommended travelling light for exactly this reason.
- Trevi has a small charge now. Since February 2026, the area at the fountain's edge costs €2 for non-residents; the top pick includes the ticket, and most other tours stop above the basin.
- Don't write off winter. On the top pick, guests from December to April were given blankets, hot-water bottles and, in one case, a sidecar heater, and said they stayed warm. On other tours, bring layers and gloves.
- Self-drive? Bring the paperwork. 7 HILLS TOURS needs a physical licence, an international permit for non-EU riders, a credit card and real riding experience, and does not refund riders it turns away.
- Plan the tip. Gratuities are not included on any tour here, and with a driver per guest on scooter tours, it adds up.
How We Selected These Tours
The Italy Trip Insider team searched every Vespa, scooter and sidecar tour listed in Rome and shortlisted the ones with the most reviews at a high rating, across sidecar, scooter photo, private and self-drive formats. We left out scooter rentals without a guide. We checked all ten listings on November 3, 2026, read their latest guest feedback alongside their one-to-three-star reviews, and confirmed that each had been reviewed recently; the newest review on each listing was posted between 2 October and 3 November 2026. We left out My Vespa Tours and another self-drive tour because neither had a guest review of the tour in the past six months. We compared them on who drives, the seat arrangement, what a couple actually pays, duration and departure times, the commentary on offer, weight, height and age limits, and the star distribution behind each rating. We checked every price, option, sale end date and inclusion against the operator's current listing on November 3, 2026.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much is a Vespa tour in Rome?+
From €46.75 per person for a 90-minute passenger ride on sale (VH Experience), and about €55 to €66 for a scooter tour with photos. Sidecar tours cost €71 for 90 minutes to €149 for 3 hours with a licensed guide. A sidecar seat each or a private sidecar costs €140 to €235 per person.
Do you drive the Vespa yourself on a Rome Vespa tour?+
Usually not. Nearly every Vespa tour in Rome is a passenger ride with a professional driver. Self-drive tours exist, such as 7 HILLS TOURS' 3-hour tour from €95, but they require riders aged 20 or over with a physical driving licence, an international permit for non-EU licences, and genuine scooter experience.
What is the best Vespa tour in Rome?+
Our pick is the Vespa Sidecar Tour's 3-hour morning tour, €149, rated 5.0 from 1,858 reviews. It is the only one with a licensed guide narrating through headsets, and it includes Pantheon and Trevi basin tickets and a cappuccino stop. For an evening ride, 7 HILLS TOURS' sidecar tour from €121 each for two is the most-reviewed in this comparison.
How does a Vespa sidecar tour work?+
Each Vespa carries two guests: one in the sidecar and one behind the driver, and you swap at the stops. Solo travellers or odd numbers ride a Vespa without a sidecar on some tours. If you both want the sidecar throughout, Vesparella sells a seat each and LivTours asks you to book two places per person.
Is a Vespa tour in Rome safe?+
Tours use professional local drivers and provide helmets, and most nervous guests say they relaxed within minutes, but passengers still travel through busy city traffic. Each operator sets its own restrictions: nine of the ten listings here say the tour is not recommended in pregnancy (the top pick does not permit it), six add spinal injuries and five poor cardiovascular health. Weight limits range from 95 kg to about 113 kg.
Is a Rome Vespa tour good for families with children?+
Yes. Minimum ages run from 4 (Hello Vespa Roma) and 5 (the top pick, 7 HILLS TOURS) to 6 or 7 on others. On the top pick, children under 150 cm ride in the sidecar. Families with teenagers rate Vesparella's 90-minute tour highly.
Can you do a Vespa tour in Rome at sunset or at night?+
Yes. From about April to September, the 18:00 departures catch sunset from the Janiculum; in winter they run after dark. 7 HILLS TOURS runs an 18:00 sidecar tour, Vesparella's 3-hour tour has an 18:00 slot, Dearoma has a 19:00 option, and the photo tours have departures until about 21:00. Streets are quieter and the monuments floodlit, but bring a jacket in the cooler months.
Which Vespa tour in Rome is best for couples?+
For a guided morning, the top pick (€298 for two), where you share one Vespa and swap between the sidecar and the pillion seat. For a cheaper sunset or evening ride, 7 HILLS TOURS (€242 for two). If you each want your own driver and photos, Hello Vespa Roma costs €110.50 for two until 9 November.
Which Rome Vespa tour with photos is best?+
Hello Vespa Roma includes 20 photos, a driver for each guest and hotel pickup (€55.25 until 9 November). Private Photographer in Rome includes 25 photos (€59.40 until 29 November), and VH Experience's photo option costs €55.25. On the cheaper photo tours, a few recent guests waited days for their pictures, so ask when they will arrive.
Should I do a Vespa tour or a golf cart tour in Rome?+
A Vespa suits one or two people who want a faster, more exhilarating ride; a golf cart seats five to seven, is steadier and suits families, groups and limited mobility. Both cover the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon in 2 to 3 hours.
Where is My Vespa Tours in Rome?+
My Vespa Tours is at Via Cavour 80, on the corner with Santa Maria Maggiore, about five minutes' walk from Termini. It rents Vespas and runs self-drive or with-driver tours from €195. We have not included it in our comparison because its newest tour review is from August 2025.
